2010-2011: Research Seed Grants

Purpose:

These seed grants are designed to facilitate the development of research expertise in aerospace engineering/space science at ISGC institutions and allow the award recipients to obtain the preliminary results needed to support larger proposals to other federal or non-federal funding agencies. The grants are available to faculty members or research scientists at all ISGC institutions that are not participating in an ISGC-funded multiple undergraduate research program.

Awards:

A total of $70,000* has been allocated to these grants for the period March 1, 2010 – February 28, 2011. The funding level of each seed grant is up to $10,000.

Complete the on-line application form.  In the "Documents" section:

  1. Select "Curriculum Vita and upload the PI vita including significant publications (vita no more than two pages);
  2. Select "Other Supporting Document" and upload your budget (sample budget format);
  3. Select "Statement of Purpose" and upload your project description.  The project description should include:

The Statement of Purpose should be single-spaced text in 12-point font with one-inch margins and be no more than four pages in length.

Selection Criteria:

Proposals will be reviewed by a ISGC Review Panel and selected based on adherence to the above criteria, scientific merit, and equitable distribution of resources across the Consortium. Women, under-represented minorities and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Participation in this program is limited to faculty (research and professorial) at ISGC affiliate and lead institutions that are not participating in an ISGC-funded multiple undergraduate research program. .
