DBF Q&A #10

I have received several questions regarding what constitutes a wing "fillet" -vs- a blended wing.  A wing fillet should have an easily identifiable fuselage "side" where it terminates on the inboard edge.  Also, to make it easy for everyone to interpret (especially for the tech inspectors) the spanwise extent of a wing "fillet" should not exceed the local wing thickness at the outside edge of the fillet.  For low wing aircraft this would be applied to the upper surface fillet (as the lower surface may well blend seamlessly into the fuselage), and likewise for a high wing aircraft would be applied to the lower surface fillet.
