DBF Q&A #12
Q: We have some PVC pipe, the inner diameter is 3 inches, the outer diameter is 3.5 inches. We wanted to know if we could mill down the outer diameter to
3.25 even though the PVC label would be removed in the process.
A: You may drill holes in the pipe for mounting release mechanisms, fairings, or other components (internal ballast or external fittings etc). You may not mill down it's outer diameter. You may not take a smaller diameter pipe and mill/drill out it's inner diameter. You may not take a larger diameter pipe and slit it and re-curve it to the reduce the diameter.
The "intent" of the rules is to use stock PVC pipe for the store body (lots of different stuff is available to choose from). It may be any color (white, gray, black, clear).
Please review all the past Q&A and FAQ items regarding the pipe as they are not all replicated here.
