
We are happy to announce that the 1996/97 AIAA Student Design/Build/Fly Competition will be hosted by BAI Aerosystems of Easton Maryland at their UAV flight test facility on Ragged Island. The Ragged Island facility has a 2000 foot paved runway and a workshop for minor repairs and aircraft support.
BAI Aerosystems Inc. was founded in 1985 to address the growing requirements for military and commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The contest date will be 26 April 1997. A rain date of 27 April 1997 will be used if required.
Contestants may wish to stay at Ocean City Maryland. A number of lodging facilities are available as well as many entertainment venues for relaxation before and after the contest.

The 1996/97 contest fly-off will be held on Ragged Island, located in the Chesapeake Bay west of Cambridge Maryland. Ragged Island is a private UAV flight test facility for BAI Aerosystems of Easton Md.
