April General Meeting
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd at 8pm in room 106B8 Engineering Hall. We will be having the ISS Executive board elections, so come on out and make your vote count! If you would like to run for a position don't forget to reply to this email stating your intentions by midnight March 31, 2008! Also, Professor Brian Fields will be speaking about dark matter and dark energy. Come experience the science side of space from one of the most renowned cosmologists in the field. Food will be served.
Aerospace Night
Aerospace Night will be happening on Tuesday, April 1st at 7pm at Geovannti's Bar and Grill. Five dollars will get you all the Buffalo Wings, Chicken Tenders, and Lasagna you can eat. Come out to celebrate the joys of being an Aerospace Engineer. Some professors might even be stopping by to participate in the festivities! All together it will be a fun night. Our December General Meeting will be held on Thursday, Demcember 6, 2007 in 103 Talbot. This will be our last general meeting of the semester.
Tuesday, October 2
Our guest will be Scott MacLaren, who will be speaking on space tether technology, space elevators and other types of exotic propulsion systems. Scott is a research scientist with the Frederick Seitz Materials Research Lab with degrees in Physics from both MIT and UIUC. He has been conducting postdoctoral research in materials science at MRL where he works on the development of novel nanostructure fabrication techniques. He has extensive experience in materials processing, microanalysis, and characterization and is an accomplished investor.

All are welcome and FREE POKEY STICKS will be provided. See you all there.

Fall Semester Barcrawl
Our Fall Semester Barcrawl will be on Wednesday, November 7 after the general meeting at 8pm at Giovanni's for dinner. More details to follow from our social director. Adi Boulos is currently accepting ideas for T-Shirt design and needs all design submissions by this Friday, October 19.
Fall Trips Update
Illinois Space Society is proud to report that twenty-one students will be attending X-Prize this October. Additionally, seven students will be attending the SEDS National Conference at M.I.T. this November.
