http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/m-selig. This http URL will always point
to my current web site ... it gets more around a lot, so edit your
links accordingly.
For site developers, if you want to link the UIUC
Airfoil Data Site to your homepage, then use
http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/m-selig/ads.html
and so on.

UIUC LSATs page.
- 12/29/95 - UIUC LSATs bulletin # 3 has been added as well as online

For users of David Fraser's Sailplane Design program, I now have the
new University of Illinois wind tunnel data available in a form that
the program can use. Thanks to Charles Baltzer of Atlanta who wrote a
program to convert the ascii text data from the tests into a data-set
for Fraser's program, I have a new data set that contains all the
usable results of the first volume of test data from UIUC. If you are
a user of Fraser's program and would like to have the data, please
send me a personal email and I will pass the file to you. The only
compensation I'll want is a report of any problems you have with it."
- Herk Stokely (herkstok@aol.com)
- 8/7/95 - Added airfoil performance data from UIUC LSATs Test
Series No. 1. Installed PROFOIL-WWW Version 0.01 on the WWW. This
program can be used to design your own airfoils. This page is not
currently supported; use at your own risk. We are working on a user's
guide.
- 6/24/95 - Added to the "Airfoil Data Site" David Lednicer's NACA
airfoil generation program (in BASIC).
- 6/6/95 - Summary
of Low Speed Airfoil Data - Volume 1 is available.
- 4/22/95 - A new e-mail address (selig@opus.aae.uiuc.edu)
has been listed for those with misc airfoil related questions. The
response may come from anyone at the University of Illinois working on
the UIUC Low Speed Airfoil Tests. This has been set up to limit the
amount of (interesting, but distracting) e-mail flooding into Selig's
e-mail account.
- 3/29/95 - Added Selig's bio under people section.
- 3/24/95 -
Bulletin #2 of the UIUC Low Speed Airfoil test has been added.
Also, under the Misc. section, see
the world's first ornithopter flapping its way into history.
-
2/17/95 - We've added our UIUC Low Speed Airfoil Tests logo. BTW:
The airfoil shown on the logo is the S1223.
- 2/3/95 - Many SAE teams have requested information on the S1210
and S1223 airfoils. These airfoils have been wind tunnel tested, but
we have not yet reduced all of the data and consequently are not ready
to release it yet. The S1223 airfoil, however, was published in the
AIAA paper 94-1866: M.S. Selig and J.J. Guglielmo, "High-Lift Low
Reynolds Number Airfoil Design," presented at the AIAA Applied
Aerodynamics Conference, June 20-22, Colorado Springs, CO. The data
(Cl, Cd, Cm) in this paper should suffice for design purposes until we
have reduced all of the data on the S1223 and all the other 30 or so
airfoils tested. Hope this helps!
- 1/15/95 - Wind tunnel test data on the RG15 and S7012 is included
in an update on the UIUC Low Speed Airfoil Tests.
- 12/20/94 - The People section is no longer empty. We have some
bios.
- 12/17/94 - For now...just this What's New Page. But seriously Jim
Guglielmo, Andy Broeren, Phil Giguere and I are right now in the wind
tunnel around the clock (24 hours a day) taking data on several model
airplane airfoils. The results will be put on the Web first! We
should have something soon.
- 10/8/94 - UIUC Applied Aerodynamics Group Home Page was started.
