Research Areas

Research Area: Aeroelasticity

The current research being conducted in aeroelasticity focuses on improving the description of fluid-structure interactions, particularly for high-speed flows and shock waves. This project is sponsored by a Computational Science and Engineering Fellowship. The research is conducted by faculty members, research scientists and post docs, numerous graduate students, and undergraduate students.

Faculty Researchers: Labs:
  • P. Geubelle - Computational solid mechanics, computational aeroelasticity, fracture mechanics, novel material design, composite materials, multiscale modeling
  • E. Loth - Two-phase flow and compressible flow, fluid mechanics, micro-vehicles
