Description of Research:

Co-Directed by Prof. R. L. Burton and Prof. A. M. Jacobi. Very high performance heat exchangers operating at high Reynolds numbers can greatly extend the performance of high-speed air breathing engines and can be used to liquefy air during flight. Research activities include measurements of heat transfer coefficient in heat exchangers and operation of heat exchangers under cryogenic conditions.
