Description of Research:

Directed by Professor J. M. Austin. Experimental studies of high-speed flows, reacting and non-reacting. Current research includes the development of a high stagnation enthalpy expansion tube for study of hypervelocity flow with real gas conditions, studies of unsteady flow and waves at small scale, and investigation of shock-induced pore collapse relevant to energetic material ignition.
