Aerospace Engineering teams from the University of Illinois swept all awards in the recent 2007-2008 Undergraduate Team Space Design Competition, sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Foundation.

Description of Research:

Directed by Professor K. D. Lee. The purpose of the lab is to develop and apply computational tools for analysis and design of flight vehicles. Current research activities include multidisciplinary design optimization, design of multi-element high-lift system, flow sensitivity analysis, high-alpha vortical flow, grid-independent algorithm, solution-adaptive grid, grid quality control, and convergence acceleration.
