Description of Research:

Directed by Professor E. Loth.  Shockwave boundary layer interaction in a supersonic wind tunnel is studied by both passive and active flow control techniques.  Diagnostics include laser doppler velocimetry, ultra-high-speed flow visualization (one million frames per second), passive and reactive Mie scattering, pressure sensitive paint, and digital image processing.
